Why I Founded Heartland Realty & Property Group

A Message From Rachel Orlando, Principal Broker & Owner

I didn't open Heartland Realty & Property Group just to own a real estate company. I opened it because I believed real estate could be done differently.

After years of working in the industry, building relationships, helping families buy and sell homes, and experiencing firsthand the challenges that come with being a real estate agent, I realized something: I wanted to build the kind of brokerage I would have wanted to be a part of.

A brokerage where agents aren't just numbers. Where hard work is recognized, success is celebrated, and the people doing the work get to keep more of what they earn.

I believe agents should have the freedom to build their own businesses while knowing they have a broker standing behind them. I wanted to create an environment where experienced agents could thrive, motivated agents could grow, and everyone had a genuine opportunity to succeed.

But Heartland was never just about agents or commissions.

Being born and raised in East Tennessee, I know how much home means to the families and communities we serve. Real estate isn't simply about contracts, signs in yards, or closing tables. It's about people, relationships, trust, and sometimes the biggest decisions of someone's life.

I wanted a brokerage that never lost sight of that.

At Heartland, we're not focused on being the biggest brokerage in town. We're focused on being one of the best at what we do.

That means putting our hearts into every transaction, treating our clients like people instead of paychecks, and building a team of professionals who take pride in the work they do.

Opening Heartland was about taking everything I've learned throughout my career—the good, the difficult, and the lessons along the way—and using it to build something meaningful.

Something I could be proud of. Something my agents could be proud to represent. And something our community could trust.

Heartland isn't just a name on a building. It's a vision, a commitment, and a reminder of why I fell in love with real estate in the first place.
